Streets for People recently learned of a consultation being undertaken by Manchester City Council which closes on Tuesday 6th December 2022.
As the below images show, the council have finally come to accept that there should be traffic filters between Greenbank Playing Fields and Greenbank Park, on the East end of Manor Road. The filters were originally part of the trial of filters in Levenshulme, but, unlike at other locations, they were mysteriously removed.

Streets for People would like to ask anyone who lives, works, or regularly travels through the Levenshulme area, to respond to this consultation. In doing so, would would like to ask supporters to also ask in their responses, for a traffic filter on the West end of Manor Road also. A filter on the West end of the road already featured in numerous consultations – each time being overall positively received. Furthermore, in conjunction with a filter at the East end of the road, it would create a large, mostly traffic-free area, which would significantly improve active travel in the community, as this previous post shows. After all, that’s supposed to be the point of this scheme!
Please return your responses to the council to levyburnageproject@manchester.gov.uk by 6th December.
